Lakeside Grain Trading LLC will manage the port's grain operations, while Sunrise FS will continue to operate the facility's agronomy and energy assets. Both companies are wholly owned by GROWMARK.
Imperial Valley Terminal is a delivery point for farmers and commercial grain companies, providing access to export markets and supporting the efficient import of crop nutrients. Full ownership will allow GROWMARK to streamline operations, expand the high-volume facility and serve a growing customer base.
"Full ownership of Imperial Valley Terminal strengthens GROWMARK's grain network and creates additional value for our member-owners," said Joe Kapraun, Executive Director of Grain Business for GROWMARK. "It also positions us to expand opportunities for customers throughout the region."

The acquisition comes as GROWMARK continues to expand its grain infrastructure. Total Grain Marketing, a GROWMARK subsidiary, recently completed a major expansion at its Lis, Illinois, facility, adding a 115-car railroad loop track, a 60,000-bushel-per-hour rail loadout system and 3.15 million bushels of grain storage.
The Lis project increases the site's total capacity to just over 6.4 million bushels and upgrades receiving capacity to more than 100,000 bushels per hour, reducing wait times for producers. The new rail loop track gives the location access to the 105-car CN unit train market and connections to CSX rail lines through the Indiana Rail Road.
Ken Meinhart, grain division manager for Total Grain Marketing, said the expansion positions TGM to become the first choice for farmers in the Lis area through improved speed, efficiency and market access.
GROWMARK, headquartered in Bloomington, Illinois, established Total Grain Marketing in 2006 as a joint venture between South Central FS, GROWMARK and Wabash Valley Service Company. TGM operates 25 elevators across Illinois and Indiana.
