USGC releases annual report highlighting market development efforts

The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) has announced the release of its 2023 Annual Report, providing a comprehensive overview of the Council's efforts to facilitate global market development and enable trade in U.S. barley, corn, sorghum, distiller’s dried grains with solubles (DDGS), and ethanol. The report, now available on grains.org, showcases the Council's significant achievements and strategic initiatives throughout the year.

The annual report reflects the Council's commitment to "Grow the Future" by connecting with buyers of U.S. agricultural commodities in various markets worldwide. President and CEO Ryan LeGrand and USGC Chairman Brent Boydston expressed their readiness to maintain established markets, open new markets, and sustain trade for the commodities grown by Council members.

Key highlights from the report include the successful inauguration of the Council's office in India, the impactful outcomes of the Global Ethanol Summit, the issuance of sustainability records globally, and the expansion of industrial starch and aquaculture programs. Furthermore, the report details the specific successes in commodity sales, such as the record sales of U.S. ethanol to Canada, increased sorghum sales to China, and the interest of a major Mexican brewer in U.S. barley malt.

The report also provides insights into the Council's operations in various countries and regions, shedding light on the progress and developments of projects and programs undertaken to support market growth and trade facilitation.

USGC Director of Communications Bryan Jernigan expressed confidence that the report effectively captures the dynamic programming and major achievements of the Council throughout 2023.
