Centerra, Gerber form grain partnership

Ohio companies will focus on core strengths as agreement takes effect Aug. 1.

Centerra+logo+for+social+media+on+new+website 1920wCenterra Co-op and Gerber & Sons announced a partnership that will take effect Aug. 1, 2026, allowing each organization to focus on its core strengths while serving farmers throughout Ohio.

The agreement positions Centerra Co-op to handle grain origination and management, including buying grain, servicing grain customers and delivering corn to Gerber. Gerber & Sons will concentrate on manufacturing feed and serving livestock producers and feed customers.

“This partnership allows two local companies to work together in a way that benefits farmers,” said Jean Bratton, CEO of Centerra. “Centerra brings deep expertise in grain origination and grain management. We look forward to supporting Gerber’s feed mill, while bringing value to grain producers in the area.”

Gerber & SonsThe transition is expected to be seamless for customers. Feed customers will continue to do business with Gerber, while existing grain contracts and feed agreements will be fulfilled according to their current terms. Centerra will provide customers with grain marketing expertise, risk management resources and market access.
