The South Dakota Board of Economic Development approved a $4 million SD Works loan to support Yaggie’s Inc. of Yankton, South Dakota, in expanding its feed mill. The project involves a $32.5 million capital investment and will create four full-time jobs.

The expansion will increase production capacity tenfold and add warehouse space to the existing facility. It will replace manual weighing, mixing, and packaging with automated processes, allowing employees to focus on feed quality checks, inventory accuracy, and equipment monitoring instead of manual labor.

“This project highlights what drives South Dakota’s economy — responsible growth in agriculture and manufacturing,” said Governor Larry Rhoden. “Ag is king in South Dakota, and supporting producers, processors, and innovators keeps our state strong for generations to come.”

GOED Commissioner Bill Even emphasized the broader impact of the investment, saying, “When established companies invest and expand in South Dakota, it reinforces our workforce, supports strong communities, and drives sustainable economic growth statewide.”
