ADM opens new central milling lab to enhance wheat quality testing

Facility in Decatur, Illinois, boosts innovation and collaboration across ADM’s milling network.

ADM has opened its new Central Milling Laboratory at the ADM Specialty Manufacturing Facility in Decatur, Illinois.

The lab is equipped with advanced testing technologies and analytical tools that allow ADM to mill, analyze, and bake wheat to provide accurate insights into flour performance in real-world applications. Baking about 30 loaves of bread daily, the lab helps ensure ADM procures the highest-quality wheat for its customers.

Located near ADM’s North American Headquarters, the facility supports 31 ADM sites across North America and enhances collaboration with the company’s Research & Development and Creation, Design and Development teams.

“We are very excited because this new lab shows our commitment to growing our quality testing capabilities and it serves as a continued investment in the Decatur community,” said Tedd Kruse, President of Milling & Baking Solutions at ADM. “This facility strengthens our ability to collaborate with customers to meet evolving market needs, and it will accelerate innovation across our milling network.”
