The USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is gearing up for its August Crop Production report by reviewing all relevant data on planted and harvested acreage. The review will include survey data and the latest information from the USDA’s Farm Service Agency and Risk Management Agency. This comprehensive data analysis covers a variety of crops including barley, corn, cotton, dry edible beans, oats, peanuts, rice, sorghum, soybeans, sugarbeets, Durum wheat, other spring wheat, and winter wheat.

If the review warrants any revisions, NASS will issue updated planted and harvested acreage estimates in the report scheduled for release on August 12, 2024. NASS routinely conducts these reviews during the crop cycle each year to ensure the most accurate and up-to-date information is available. Additional reviews for different crops will follow in September and October, covering an extensive range of agricultural products from chickpeas to sunflowers.
