Kreamer Feed Inc. received $2.5 million in state funding to expand its facility in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant will finance site preparation, foundation work and infrastructure improvements at the company’s Middlecreek Township location.
The project includes grading, tree removal, utility upgrades and stormwater management. Construction plans call for pouring foundations, erecting a steel superstructure, installing truck docks and adding electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems.
The improvements aim to expand production capacity and strengthen agricultural infrastructure in the region.
“The 85th District and the Commonwealth are built on a proud tradition of family farming that deserves to be honored and celebrated,” Rep. David H. Rowe said. “This grant will help Kreamer Feed modernize its operations, create new jobs for Snyder County families, and support the agricultural backbone of central Pennsylvania.”
Sen. Lynda Schlegel Culver (R-27) said the investment supports farmers, employees and communities that depend on agriculture.
“Agriculture remains Pennsylvania’s top industry, and investments in businesses like Kreamer Feed support the farmers, employees, and communities that rely on a strong agricultural economy,” Culver said.
The RACP program, overseen by the Pennsylvania Office of the Budget, allocates state capital grants for economic, civic, cultural, recreational and historical improvement projects. Eligible projects must demonstrate regional impact and generate employment and tax revenue.
