ADM announced a new partnership with international nonprofit TechnoServe to advance regenerative agriculture adoption among 15,000 soybean farmers in Maharashtra, India, as part of its global Farm Forward Initiative.
The 18-month program, funded by a $500,000 investment from ADM Cares, will target four districts in Maharashtra: Latur, Dharashiv, Beed and Nanded. The initiative launches in May 2026 under a memorandum of understanding signed by both organizations.
Focus on soil health and technology
The program will concentrate on improving soil health, building capacity within Farmer-Producer Organizations and expanding access to digital advisory tools. These efforts align with the Government of India’s sustainable agriculture priorities and promote farming practices that enhance soil health, improve water-use efficiency and ensure targeted application of fertilizers and crop protection products.
Approximately 200 demonstration plots will be established across program villages over two cropping seasons, allowing farmers to observe and adopt practices that improve soil health, water conservation and long-term productivity. The partnership will also establish eight Farmer-Producer Organization hubs to provide continued support beyond the program’s duration.
Digital integration with government programs
The initiative will integrate digital agriculture solutions with government programs, including the Maha-Agri Tech project, a Maharashtra state-led initiative designed to empower farmers through precision farming technologies. Farmers will gain access to satellite-based insights and drone-enabled applications for data-driven decisions on crop health, pest activity and field conditions.
“At ADM, we believe that sustainable supply chains start with resilient farming communities,” said Amrendra Mishra, managing director of Ag Services & Oilseeds and country manager India for ADM. “We are executing ADM’s Asia Pacific flagship programme for 2026 under the global Farm Forward initiative.”
The partnership aims to establish a scalable model for advancing regenerative agriculture in India while strengthening climate resilience and supporting sustainable livelihoods for participating farmers.
