The Macon County Sheriff's Office told KTVO that rescue crews found the body of Jerry Fletcher, 62, of rural Elmer, MO, inside a grain bin Friday afternoon.
At 1:45 p.m., rescue crews were called a report of a man trapped in a grain bin. Fletcher, who lives on the farm, was believed to be trapped under soybeans in a large bin on the property.
Crews cut holes in the sides of the bin and were using shovels and augers to move as many beans out of the way as possible.
Fletcher was pronounced dead at the scene.
