A fire has destroyed part of the Wheaton Dumont Co-Op Elevator in Clinton, MN, according to reporting by Dan Gunderson for MPR news.

Citizens were evacuated from a three-block radius and roads into town were closed during the fire as was Hwy 75. Citizens of the town were also asked to conserve water during the fight with the fire because the local water tower couldn't keep up with the firefighter's needs.

No injuries were reported, but the grain elevator appears to be a total loss. Townspeople are already worried about the impact on the local economy if the owners of the grain elevator decide not to rebuild.
