
Corn ethanol factories in North Dakota are at different points on incorporating Enogen corn and its potential cost-savings into their mix, says a report at Inforum.
Enogen is a corn variety produced by Syngenta that has enzymes genetically engineered into the kernels.
Syngenta patented and offered the technology to ethanol production companies in 2011. The use by ethanol plants has doubled annually.
Today, the product is being used or tested in more than 30 ethanol plants in the country.
