For the week ending July 5, total inspections of grain (corn, wheat, and soybeans) for export from all major U.S. export regions reached 2.39 million metric tons, down 13% from the previous week, up 17% from last year, and 23% above the three-year average.
Inspections of each of the three major grains receded. Despite the decrease in total inspections, Pacific Northwest inspections increased 16% from week to week. However, Mississippi Gulf inspections decreased 20% from the previous week.
During the last four weeks, grain inspections remained well above average, increasing 26% from last year and up 34% above the three-year average.
Outstanding export sales were down for corn, wheat, and soybeans.
