WALB's Ashanti Drake reported that two lawsuits have been filed in Forsyth County, Georgia, Superior Court accuse Tyson Foods, its subsidiary Keystone Foods and the Camilla plant manager of negligence following a June 2025 explosion at a poultry feed facility in Camilla, Georgia.
Contractors Nick William Weeks and Joshua James Harper, employees of Classon Industrial Services, were engulfed in a blast described as powerful enough to lift the plant’s roof. Weeks died from injuries sustained, while Harper survived but suffered catastrophic burns.
The complaints allege failure to prevent a combustible dust explosion, including inadequate dust control, failure to shut down equipment and lack of explosion venting. Both contractors were working on the fifth floor when organic dust ignited below, filling their workspace with fire and heat.
