The Saskatchewan Star Phoenix's Rob O'Flanagan reported that the long-shuttered Prince Albert pulp mill in Saskatchewan, closed since 2006, could soon see new life thanks to its acquisition by Ontario-based BMI Group. The developer specializes in repurposing large industrial sites across Canada, turning dormant infrastructure into profitable ventures.
Spanning over 930 hectares with nearly 900,000 square feet of industrial space, the mill boasts direct rail access and 130 megawatts of available power. BMI Group plans to attract diverse tenants leveraging these assets, targeting opportunities in critical minerals and grain sectors, key industries in the Prince Albert region.
