Landus appoints senior director of training & performance

Landus, an Iowa-based agriculture solutions company, today announced the appointment of Dr. Dehra Harris as Sr. Director of Training & Performance. In this role, Harris brings the best elements of health, human performance, and education to support farmers, employees, and partners within the Landus community.

“Landus is committed to supporting the physical and mental health and wellbeing of our employees, farmer-owners, and their families,” said Landus CEO Matt Carstens. “With Dr. Harris on board we are poised to pioneer innovative approaches that empower our farmers and foster a culture of continuous improvement that drives sustainable growth and rural vitality for the next generation.”

At Landus, Dr. Harris will develop programs that span mental performance, nutrition, strength training, and learning strategies tailored to the needs of Landus’ community. These initiatives will focus on the specific needs and challenges faced by farmers, aiming to not only optimize individual performance but also create a culture of resilience, empowerment, and long-term success within the agriculture industry.

“Past efforts in the health and wellbeing space have not reached or addressed the unique needs of farmers. With a career spanning medicine, sports, and now agriculture, Dr. Harris brings a collaborative approach that harmonizes the wellbeing of farmers with strategies for peak outcomes and a commitment to integrating the best elements of health and human performance to drive success. Prior to joining Landus, Dr. Harris served as the Director of Performance Research and Education as well as the Assistant Director of High Performance Operations for the Toronto Blue Jays. Dr. Harris also served as the Director of Wellness and High Performance for Graduate Medical Education at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO.
