Scoular has added seven new members to its farmer advisory group as the initiative enters its third year, the agricultural company announced this week.

The Farmer Advisory Roundtable Members group, or FARM, gathered recently for a two-day event that included tours of Scoular's high-speed shuttle loading facility in Grainton, Nebraska, and the nearby Mid America Agri Products/Wheatland ethanol plant, which Scoular now supplies with grain and logistics.

Established in 2023, the advisory group aims to foster relationships with forward-thinking producers who can provide insights on agricultural technology, grain marketing and regenerative farming practices.

"These advisors are making decisions every day that impact their operations – their firsthand knowledge of what's important to a farmer's success guides our decisions," said Melissa Norem, general manager who leads Scoular's producer strategy efforts.

New members include farmers from Kansas, Nebraska and Illinois, joining five existing advisors from Kansas, Illinois, Missouri and Iowa.

The group has helped Scoular better understand producers' preferences in agricultural technology tools and grain marketing strategies, while also representing the company on industry producer panels.

The summer gathering concluded with a visit to a former advisor's family farm operation near Venango, Nebraska.
