The Green Sheet Farm Forum's Victoria Lusk reported that South Dakota's two largest agriculture cooperatives will once again attempt to merge after members voted against the unification in June 2015. A dowturn in farm economy and increased competition forced the boards of the two co-op's to re-evaluate a potential merger.
Wheat Growers Board President Hal Clemenson sent a letter to members asking for feedback over a two-week comment period. Following the reexamination process, both boards will determine whether to proceed to a vote of the membership.
