Innovations Support Integrated Approach to Mycotoxin Management

Trouw Nutrition to contribute to World Mycotoxin Forum in Belfast this October

Trouw Nutrition, a Nutreco company, has a shared vision to feed the future. A big part of this vision is the company’s effort to mitigate the negative impact of mycotoxins on animal health and performance.

Ongoing research finding rising levels of mycotoxins around the globe is inspiring additional studies focused on helping customers derive the highest nutritional value from their animal feed.

As a gold sponsor of the World Mycotoxin Forum (WMF) held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, from 14-16 October, 2019, Trouw Nutrition is contributing to knowledge transfer related to mycotoxin risk management.

Serving as a gold sponsor of the WFM underscores the company’s efforts to help animals attain their full genetic potential.

Mitigating mycotoxin in feed helps protect animal’s health and performance while sharing knowledge and solutions with other stakeholders at venues such as the WMF is integral to managing mycotoxin risk.

During the global scientific gathering, Trouw Nutrition will be presenting five posters and a scientific presentation on its ongoing innovations. Scientists and researchers will be available at the company’s stand to share findings on research conducted in-house and in collaboration with partners.

Visitors can also experience the company’s Mycomaster technology and recently developed Global Mycotoxin Database platform. This integrated solution facilitates rapid and reliable analysis of raw materials as well as finished feed. It does not only allow for an overview of daily mycotoxin variation but also provides species-specific risk assessment accordingly. Users are able to apply this information to guide their own mycotoxin mitigation practices.

Partnering with colleagues at Trouw Nutrition’s headquarters in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, Trouw Nutrition Northern Ireland is organizing a symposium around WMF.

“This is a great opportunity for us to openly discuss a critical challenge impacting producers and the feed industry in Ireland, while sharing emerging and effective innovations we are bringing to the marketplace,” says Pedro Caramona, Global Programme Manager for Trouw Nutrition’s Mycotoxin Risk Management Programme. “At this venue, we aim to create a bilateral transfer of knowledge and go behind science to practice. Farmers and supporting industry are key to help us have a deep understanding of how to reduce the impact of mycotoxins in the feed to food chain. Ultimately supporting our vision of feeding the future, safely.”
