Texas A&M University is offering an online four–week course that fulfills the requirement for a “preventive controls qualified individual” (PCQI) as defined in the Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventive Controls for Animal Food regulation.

The course also includes FDA-recognized “standardized curriculum” developed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA).

Animal Food Safety Plan Development

Participants have the opportunity to develop an Animal Food Safety Plan with guidance by the lead instructor, Dr. Tim Herrman. This additional training is provided at no cost and is designed to be company specific. The lead instructor has assisted feed manufacturers on six continents develop food safety (HACCP) plans over the past two decades.

Cost for PQCI training:

  • $500 + $50 for each individual PCQI Certificate from the same mill.
  • Co-enroll at no cost for Animal Food Safety/HACCP Plan Development (Optional)
