If there ever was a sector that could operate during a pandemic, it’s grain.
The Manitoba Co-Operator reports that with some planning and forethought farmers, truckers, grain companies, railways and terminal operators can keep moving grain to market, safely, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Richardson Pioneer Ltd. is putting in place safe distancing protocols where people stay in their trucks and how paperwork is handled.
Cargill and Parrish and Heimbecker are asking farmers to call ahead, G3 has closed offices to the public and implemented social distancing, asking those delivering grain to remain in their vehicles.
