With 15 locations that receive grain, Key Cooperative has approximately 30 million bushels of storage. Its central Iowa footprint was in the path of the severe weather event that took place on Aug. 10, reports AgWEB.
Of its 15 grain locations, 10 were affected by the storm — 40 bins were damaged totaling 12 million bushels of storage. Twenty of the cooperative’s grain bins were completely destroyed taking out 6 million bushels of storage.
Boyd Brodie, general manager of Key Cooperative provided an update on Aug. 21 in this YouTube video saying they have experienced “significant damage.”
