Bipartisan bill aims to preserve access to key ag inputs for US producers

Bipartisan legislation has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate that would ensure the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) monitors vulnerabilities in the food and agriculture supply chains that could be exploited by China.

The Securing American Agriculture Act, introduced in the House by Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-Iowa) and Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-Illinois) and in the Senate by Sen. Pete Ricketts (R-Nebraska) and Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Michigan) would preserve access to key agricultural inputs for U.S. producers, the bills’ sponsors said.
