Due to necessary repairs, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) has scheduled a partial closure of La Grange Lock on the Illinois Waterway (IW) this summer. The repair work will stop traffic during a 10-hour period and re-open for a 14-hour period each day. This may slow grain barge movements as farmers sell off stored grain in anticipation of the harvest of 2017-18 crops.
