Sollio Cooperative Group announced Alexandre St-Jacques Burke, FRM, will become CEO of Sollio Agriculture in December 2026, succeeding Casper Kaastra, who is stepping down after years leading the division’s growth.
Pascal Houle, CEO of Sollio Cooperative Group, thanked Kaastra for his work and praised St-Jacques Burke’s qualifications for the role.
“Alexandre has been with our organization for nearly 20 years, both at Sollio Agriculture and at Sollio Cooperative Group,” Houle said. “That experience has helped him develop a thorough understanding of our agriculture industry, our cooperative model, and the realities faced by the farmers and cooperatives in our network.”
St-Jacques Burke brings extensive knowledge of the organization’s operations and the agriculture sector’s challenges. Throughout his career, he has shown the ability to combine vision, leadership and rigorous management, according to Houle.
“It is with humility and great enthusiasm that I return to working with our teams in the agri-business division,” St-Jacques Burke said. “I would like to thank Pascal for his trust and for giving me the opportunity to continue my career within an organization to which I have been deeply dedicated for nearly 20 years.”
St-Jacques Burke also thanked Kaastra, noting they have worked closely together for years.
“Together with our teams, cooperatives and partners across Canada, I look forward to continuing to grow Sollio Agriculture and adapt our service offering to meet the needs of our members and farmers, who are facing an increasingly complex and changing reality,” he said.
The cooperative group is now beginning the search for a new CFO following St-Jacques Burke’s appointment. A gradual transition will ensure smooth transfer of responsibilities.
