ADM announced Jeff Rowe will join the company as executive vice president and chief operating officer on Aug. 17, 2026. The newly created position will oversee the company’s commercial businesses, global manufacturing and research and development efforts.
Rowe will report to Juan Luciano, chair of the board and chief executive officer. The appointment strengthens ADM’s leadership team as the company works to advance its growth strategy and business priorities.
Rowe comes to ADM from Syngenta Group, where he served as CEO starting in January 2024. During his time at the Basel, Switzerland-based agriculture company, he led efforts to advance sustainable farming and AI-powered innovation. He joined Syngenta Group in September 2016 and held several senior leadership roles, including president of Syngenta Crop Protection from July 2022 to December 2023 and president of Syngenta Seeds from September 2016 to June 2022.
Before Syngenta Group, Rowe spent more than 20 years at DuPont Pioneer in executive positions spanning strategy, international operations, biotech and regulatory affairs. He served as vice president of strategic services and planning from July 2015 to September 2016 and sat on the company’s leadership team. He was regional director for DuPont Pioneer Europe from March 2011 to July 2015 and vice president of biotech affairs and regulatory from 2008 to 2011. Rowe started his career with DuPont Pioneer in 1995 in supply management.

Rowe is a fifth-generation farmer who helps run his family’s operation in Illinois. The farm employs regenerative agriculture practices to reduce environmental impact and improve sustainability, productivity and profitability.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from Iowa State University, a law degree from Drake Law School and a global executive MBA from NYU Stern School of Business and the London School of Economics.
