The Andersons, Inc. has announced a significant organizational restructuring, moving to a two-segment operating and reporting structure effective January 1, 2025. This strategic shift aims to streamline operations, enhance collaboration, and drive growth across the company's diverse agricultural and renewable energy businesses.
Key points of the announcement include:
- Weston Heide appointed as Executive Vice President to lead the new Agribusiness segment
- Mark Simmons named Executive Vice President to head the Renewables segment
- Transition to the new structure begins Q1 2025, with 2024 financial reporting remaining under the current format
- Agribusiness segment formed by merging the former Nutrient & Industrial and Trade segments
- Renewables segment to continue operations as currently reported, with an enhanced focus on growth
President and CEO Bill Krueger emphasized that this restructuring is designed to "simplify our organization to enhance our ability to meet the evolving needs of our customers and stakeholders." He expressed confidence that the leadership of Heide and Simmons will improve efficiency, foster innovation, and deliver a seamless, 'one-company' experience.
Both Heide and Simmons joined The Andersons in 2019 as part of the Lansing Trade Group acquisition. Heide, with over 15 years of experience in agribusiness, currently serves as senior vice president of trade and processing. Simmons brings more than 25 years of experience in agriculture and renewables, currently overseeing ethanol marketing, trading, and plant originations as vice president for the renewables business.
