A $50 million project under construction rising in the rolling hills in Shelby County south of Center, TX, got a boost last week from the city, reports The Light and Champion.
The Tyson Foods Feed Mill project was announced by company representatives in early 2019. On April 13 the Center City Council approved establishing an industrial district for the site, which allows Tyson Foods to make payments in lieu of property taxes in an arrangement which will last for 15 years and can be renewed at the end of that initial period.
Once the feed mill goes into operation in August 2021, it will employ about 42 people.
