The 2009 IFE promises to be even bigger and better than before. It will once again be co-located with the International Poultry Expo and, for the third year, the trade show will be included in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Buyer Program.

IFE is where the feed industry meets to network, learn and see the latest in new technology. IFE offers an unprecedented opportunity to access a dynamic purchasing audience, key decision makers and international customers from all segments of the industry. IFE is looking to build upon the success of 2007 and 2008. The 2009 Expo will serve as a guaranteed forum for increasing a company’s overall exposure—a sure fire way to increase sales and reach targeted audiences. IFE offers an unprecedented opportunity to access a dynamic purchasing audience. Feed manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, equipment manufacturers and industry service providers find Expo the place to reach key decision makers and prospective customers from all segments of the industry. More than 20,000 persons attended last year’s show, nearly 4,000 of those represented more than 100 countries.

AFIA will continue on its strong tradition of offering outstanding educational programs for show attendees. On Thursday, January 29, at 8:00 am., AFIA’s own Jarrod Kersey will give an update on the regulatory and legislative issues impacting the feed industry based on the new administration and Congress. At 8:30, Rick Scholtens and Jaron Vande Hoef from Interstates Companies discuss energy saving ideas and using electricity wisely and David Musiedlak, Engineering Consultant; WARE Inc. will be presenting energy conversation ideas in the heat and steam arena from 9 - 9:30 a.m. This will be followed by a question and answer session. AFIA’s International Educational Forum is free to all attendees.

The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) and the Poultry Protein & Fat Council (PPFC) will sponsor a Pet Food Regulatory and Technical Conference: Understanding Emerging Trends in the Pet Food Industry, Jan. 27-28, 2009, at the Georgia World Congress Center — the same site as the IFE/IPE Expo’s.

As a conference bonus all conference attendees will receive complimentary admission to the IFE/IPE.

The Pet Food Regulatory and Technical Conference will begin at 1 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Jan. 27, prior to the opening of the International Feed Expo and the International Poultry Expo the following day. There will be two concurrent sessions, one addressing the rapidly changing regulatory environment and the other addressing technical issues related to the pet food industry. The session will continue Wednesday, Jan. 28, from 8-10 a.m. with a general session before the Expo kicks off later that day. New this year is the Pet Food Pavillion an area on the show floor centralized to provide a way for attendees and suppliers to interract.

This premier event for the pet food industry features networking opportunities, informative sessions and roundtables such as:

» Global Regulation of Pet Food featuring:

- Dr. Dan McChesney, FDA/CVM
- Dr. Willem Penning, European Commission
