Man Rescued from Grain at Landus Co-op in Boone, IA

The Ames Tribune staff reported on a grain entrapment at the Landus Cooperative Boone, IA, location. The local fire department received a call that a man was engulfed in grain in the early hours of June 29th, and when they arrived the employees at the elevator were already working to free the man.

With the use of a rescue tube, the fire department was able to free the man in about an hour. The man did not sustain any major injuries and was not taken to seek medical attention.

Landus Cooperative is investigating the situation and stressed how important it is to be safe. The company plans to continue communicating with staff about the importance of being safe around grain. How the man got entrapped while moving grain is unknown.
