Calypso Volunteer Fire Department and Duplin County emergency personnel evacuated employees and neighbors Wednesday afternoon from Southeastern Grain Company, Calypso, NC, after an external propane tank caught fire.
WRAL reports the fire was contained to a single tank and was quickly brought under control.
Firefighters were keeping other nearby tanks wetted down while the remaining fuel in the tank burned away.
The fire began just after noon. No injuries were reported.
