Cedar Bluffs Fire Chief Rob Benke reported a 65-year-old rural Cedar Bluffs man was successfully removed from a grain bin Thursday without injury.
“The center auger had gotten plugged and the farmer went in to fix it,” Benke told the Wahoo Newspaper.
The man was soon enveloped in grain up to his chest. Benke said the man was trapped near the side door, which made it easier for rescuers to get to him.
No major injuries were reported and he was not transported for treatment.
