In June, a trade delegation from sub-Saharan Africa visited the United States to see the wheat industry in Oklahoma and across the nation up close.

According to a report at NewsOK, the delegation didn't come to the United States to learn how to grow wheat. They came to learn more about the quality of product the United States has to offer to their businesses.

International trade deals are important to wheat growers in Oklahoma and throughout the country, because about half the harvested product is exported overseas.

U.S. Wheat Associates also sends teams of wheat growers on reciprocal trips overseas to make follow-up visits to potential buyers.
