Ethanol Industry Remains Hopeful, Vigilant in 2020

Goal for 2020 is restoring certainty, strength back into market

Renewable Fuels Association President & CEO Geoff Cooper recapped the best of times and worst of times in 2019 during the recent Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit.

According to the Iowa Agribusiness Radio Network, Small Refinery Exemptions and the plan the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) put in place to “transparently” oversee and reallocate them, was the biggest gut-punch the industry had all year.

Cooper says the first signpost for ethanol in 2020 was getting all the details for ethanol and dry distillers’ grains in the Phase One China trade deal.

The goal for 2020 is restoring some certainty and strength back into the market.
