Dennis Haugen, 59, from Karnak, ND, and president of the North Dakota Grain Growers Association, resigned his leadership on the board on Aug. 4, 2020, after a vulgar exchange on Facebook was reposted to the organization’s Facebook page, reports AgWeek.
Dan Wogsland, executive director of the NDGGA, which represents wheat and barley farmers in policy areas, called Haugen’s post “inexcusable.”
The executive committee of NDGGA called a special meeting by Zoom. At the end of the meeting, called for the purpose of discussing the issue, Haugen resigned.
Haugen’s comment was initially posted Friday, July 31, in an exchange with a person identified on Facebook as “Jaime Anthrope.”
Another Facebook commenter, “Nick Salk” reposted the item to the NDGGA Facebook page, saying, “Hey, does your organization know how your president talks to people publicly?”
