Work is underway to rehabilitate part of CHS grain terminal docks in Superior, WI, reports WDOI. It was made possible by a $1.7 million dollar Harbor Assistance Grant, from WISDOT.
"Approximately 600 feet of dock will be replaced," says Chuck Schwede,director of Agriculture Business Terminal Operations for CHS. "It will shore up the infrastructure, and last quite a few years into the future. It will allow us to keep bringing vessels in and rail cars in to load those vessels."
The part that is being replaced was installed in the 1940s.
