Two Charged in Felony Grain Theft

Thousands in grain, equipment reported stolen in Georgia

Police

Two men face charges of felony-theft-by-taking in Screven County, GA, after Georgia Bureau of Investigation special agents arrested them last week, reports the Statesboro Herald.

Billy J. "B.J." Sasser, 35, and Stephen H. Reddick, 48, were each released on bond from the Screven County Jail after their arrests for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars' worth of grain from AGrowStar LLC, which is based in Davisboro, GA, but with a buying point in Screven County.

Representatives of AGrowStar told GBI agents that "former employees and contractors were suspected of removing grain and selling it for personal gain."

Reddick was a manager at the grain terminal, and Sasser was a hauler.
