In a significant expansion of its agricultural services in central Kansas, Scoular has announced the acquisition of three grain handling facilities, previously owned by Skyland Grain. This strategic move not only doubles Scoular's storage capacity in the region but also opens up new market opportunities for local farmers.

The facilities, located in Trousdale, Cullison, and Greensburg, are a welcome addition to Scoular's already established presence in the area, which includes a shuttle-loading facility in Pratt operating for over a decade. This acquisition marks a significant increase in Scoular's footprint in central Kansas, highlighting the company's growing influence in the agricultural sector.

Scoular's Pratt facility, known for its recent major upgrades completed in 2022, including improved unloading speeds and expanded storage capacity, is complemented by the newly acquired facilities. These improvements demonstrate Scoular's commitment to enhancing its operational efficiency in the region.

The newly acquired facilities will handle a variety of grains including corn, wheat, soybeans, milo, and canola. The strategic location of Pratt on the Union Pacific mainline is pivotal, as it allows for efficient transportation of grain, granting more producers access to Scoular’s extensive supply chain network. This expansion is not just about storage and transportation; it also plays a crucial role in supporting Scoular's partnership with Pratt Energy. The company can continue providing 100% of the feedstock required for Pratt Energy's ethanol production.

TJ Mandl, Scoular's Regional Manager, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, "Expanding our footprint in central Kansas enables us to better serve local producers, customers, and our partners. We remain committed to building lasting relationships with a continued focus on responsible growth opportunities."
Scoular, headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, is a major player in the Midwestern grain handling network, operating over 50 facilities across Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska.

This latest acquisition is seen as a testament to Scoular’s dedication to growth and service in the agricultural sector, further cementing its role as a key contributor to the region's agricultural economy.
