Ukraine exported 22.76 million tons of grain crops from the beginning of the 2022/2023 marketing year (July to June) and until January 2, the country's Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.
According to the agency, more than half (55.5%) of the total supply is corn —12.64 million tons, another 8.41 million tons of wheat (36.9%) and 1.63 million tons of barley (7.1%).
The pace of grain exports since the beginning of the current marketing year (MY) is 31.43% lower than in the same period last MY (from July 1, 2021 to January 2, 2022, 33.2 million tons were exported).
The New Voice of Ukraine notes:
- 8.41 million tons of wheat (1.91 times less compared to the same period a year earlier)
- 1.63 million tons of barley (3.2 times less)
- 12,500 tons of rye (9.7 times less)
- 12.64 million tons of corn (9.5% more)
- 69,000 tons of flour (+15.9%)
On January 1, only 15,000 tons of corn were exported from Ukraine, other crops were not exported to foreign markets.
The average daily export rate for the reporting period of December 21 – January 2 increased by 46.1% compared to the prior period of December 14-21.
According to Ukrainian News, taking into account average prices on the world food market, Ukraine expects to receive at least USD $20 billion from this year's grain exports.
