Today, feed mills use sophisticated software on the front end of their operation. This includes fulfilling orders, batching and manufacturing feed, and loadout systems to load feed into feed trailers for delivery.

As soon as the feed leaves the mill, the operators lose visibility and traceability of those orders. Currently feed companies resort to using manual systems to “track” these orders. In doing so they lose all delivery metrics including route taken, sequencing accuracy, extra stops made by the driver, and unload times. In most cases, neither the mill nor their customers are able to 100% validate that the right feed was delivered to the correct bin.

During this TECHTalk, DPTechlink will demonstrate the importance of information technology once feed leaves the mill relative to transparency, traceability, biosecurity, and process efficiencies. In today’s tech savvy culture, why not use technology to track and trace the delivery of feed.
