G3 announces the opening of three new grain elevators in Alberta.

G3 Wetaskiwin and G3 Stettler County are in full operation, and G3 Irricana will begin receiving grain shortly.

The new elevators feature the same high-efficiency infrastructure as other G3 new elevators in Western Canada. Trucks can unload grain in less than five minutes.

Trains up to 150 cars can load in continuous motion on the loop track in a matter of hours. The elevators ship grain to G3 Terminal Vancouver, the next-generation grain export terminal that opened earlier this year.

“These new elevators are part of the growing network of high-efficiency G3 facilities that is transforming how grain moves across Canada,” says G3 CEO Don Chapman. “And we’re excited to be part of the communities in and around Wetaskiwin, Stettler County and Irricana.”

Plans for grand opening events at the new facilities have been set aside for the time being due to the COVID19 pandemic.

G3 has six new elevators in Alberta. G3 Carmangay and G3 Morinville opened earlier this year; G3 Vermilion is under construction and due to open in 2021. In Saskatchewan, G3 Swift Current is under construction and due to open in 2021.
