Education Opportunities Abound

IPPE is free this year, making it possible for entry-level employees to gain knowledge

For years the feed industry has faced a monumental challenge. How do we recruit the next generation of the industry ... and how do we mold them into future leaders?

One strategy is to take a young person with talent and a willingness to learn and train them in the skills they need to be successful, rather than hiring employees with the “right” background or abilities.

Is there someone that you manage that shows promise? This year’s International Production & Processing Expo (IPPE) Marketplace is a perfect opportunity to have them gain industry knowledge.

IPPE Marketplace is free to sign up for this year and has dozens of learning opportunities for every level of the feed industry.

Some of my favorites this year seem basic at first, but go into detail about some of the fundamental equipment employees will be working with throughout their careers. These courses teach not only what the equipment does but how it does it. How equipment functions is vital information for anyone who plans on working in the industry long term.

Be sure to check out these opportunities:

But this is just the beginning. Hundreds of feed equipment manufacturers will have a virtual presence in the marketplace where employees can watch demonstrations and ask questions about products. There are also other free opportunities such as the Feed Education Forum, the product forum and dozens of other TECHTalks, most of them on demand.

So if anyone in your mill needs to learn the basics or brush up on their skills, this year’s free IPPE Marketplace offers the perfect opportunity.
