- IKAR estimates that 2020/21 winter wheat area at 16.3 million hectares (MH) up from 15.9 MH in 19/20.
- IKAR estimates that Russian spring wheat acres will be flat or slightly above last year's level of 12.3 MH.
- Last year Russia produced 73.5MT of wheat.
- FBN’s Take On What It Means For The Farmer: We believe that the increase in Russian wheat acres represents a potential negative for the U.S. hard red winter wheat producer. While the expansion of Russia’s 20/21 winter wheat acres is well known inside the global market, we believe that a shrinking 20/21 U.S. HRW acres combined with a strong US dollar can once again make U.S. HRW the residual supplier to the world.
