Matt Jones has joined the Landus executive leadership team as its newly appointed executive vice president - sales.

Jones’ experience spans over 23 years and across all major markets and cropping systems in the U.S., including the West Coast, South and primarily the Midwest corn/soy markets.

“In this new role, Matt will be overseeing all sales conducted within Landus," said president  and CEO Matt Carstens. "Together, we’re creating the best buying experience for the farmer by including all aspects of their farming operation into a full-service package."

With the addition of Jones, sales in grain, agronomy and other key areas will all be housed under one sales structure. For the farmer, this means a more comprehensive plan and seamless experience as Landus seeks to create long term partnerships with customers and meet their needs in new and different ways, said the cooperative.

“The vision at Landus is inspiring," said Jones. “We seek to deliver best-in-class Innovation, quality and service. Our efforts are focused on putting people first – this includes our farmers, our employees and the people who built this great country in the rural and agricultural communities.

"The ag market and global landscape has changed over the last 12 months and continues to change daily," he added. "At the end of the day, it comes down to Landus earning the trust of their farmers and helping them make the best decision for their operation. I’m excited to engage my team in working to meet the needs of our farmers – today and into the future.”

Jones comes from a long career  deeply rooted in ag sales, sales/account management and executive leadership. For the last nine years, he served as a strategic account manager at BASF, where he was later promoted to director of the Midwest region. Prior to BASF, he spent 12 years at Syngenta, where he gained experience in a variety of roles including sales, marketing and management.

Jones’ people-first approach aligns with where Landus sees the Farmer of Tomorrow, he added.

“I hope to utilize my diverse work experience and learnings over the past 23 years to support and lead Landus towards its next horizon," said Jones. "We will operate with a solution-first mindset and a high degree of integrity while we create value for our customers and partners. I believe that our sales team is the heartbeat of our organization, and I’m eager to help farmers reach their goals.”
