J.E. Meuret Grain Co., Brunswick, Nebraska, is celebrating 100 years in business.

The company was founded in 1923 with a single location to assist farmers with buying, storing and selling their crops. Today, the company has eight locations throughout northeast Nebraska: Brunswick, Creighton, Dakota City, Crofton, Atkinson, Orchard, Pierce and a large feed mill near Plainview.

It owns more than 20 million bushels of storage and can ship a single truckload or a train that holds 450,000 bushels from multiple locations.

  • Dakota City shuttle-loading facility is the largest distributor of organic grain to the West Coast
  • Pierce, Creighton and Crofton facilities are Purina Feed Dealer locations
  • Seven area grain storage and shipping facilities are complemented by a centrally located high-capacity feed mill serving livestock operators throughout the region
  • Expanding fertilizer business in Brunswick and Crofton

Now led by the third and fourth generations of the Meuret family, J.E. Meuret employs more than 100 people throughout its facilities.

Throughout the company’s 100 years, the Meuret family has operated with the belief that the success of the business is tied directly to the success of its customers.

According to the Norfolk Daily News, the company will celebrate its centennial on June 24 with a catered meal and live band to thank employees and customers.
