UI Feed Technology Center Opens

$20M feed mill is producing feed for most of the research animals on the South Farms

The new University of Illinois Feed Technology Center is up and running, and the nearly-95-year-old feed mill is scheduled to be torn down this summer, reports The News-Gazette.

The new $20 million feed mill is producing feed for most of the research animals on the South Farms, using crops grown on the South Farms.

With the new equipment, researchers be able to produce feed with precise levels of different ingredients with a more automated process.

The old feed mill will come down in two phases this summer.
