The USDA releases its latest Crop Production Report.

Winter wheat production is forecast at 1.25 billion bushels, down 4% from 2019. As of May 1, the United States yield is forecast at 51.7 bushels per acre, down 1.9 bushels from last year’s average yield of 53.6 bushels per acre.

Hard Red Winter production, at 733 million bushels, is down 12% from a year ago.

Soft Red Winter, at 298 million bushels, is up 24% from 2019.

White Winter, at 224 million bushels, is down 3% from last year. Of the White Winter production, 16.2 million bushels are Hard White and 207 million bushels are Soft White.
