Weekly Grain Inspections Unchanged; Soybeans Rise

Total inspections of grain from all major U.S. export regions reached 2.58 MMT

For the week ending October 24, total inspections of grain (corn, wheat, and soybeans) for export from all major U.S. export regions reached 2.58 million metric tons (mmt).

According to the latest USDA Grain Transportation Report, inspections were unchanged from the previous week and from last year, but were 19% below the 3-year average. Inspections of wheat and corn decreased 10% and 34%, respectively, from the previous week, but soybean inspections increased 18%. Total grain inspections in the Pacific Northwest (PNW) increased 12 percent from the past week, and Mississippi Gulf inspections decreased 5%.

During the last 4 weeks, grain inspections were 12% below last year and 27% below the 3-year average.
