Ukraine's Grain Exports Down 14%

Country accounts for about 16% of global grain exports

Ukraine's grain exports have fallen 14% to 13.12 million tonnes so far in the season that runs from July 2020 to June 2021 because of much lower volumes of corn, economy ministry data showed on Monday.

According to a report at Successful Farming, traders sold only 818,000 tonnes of corn compared to 2.45 million tonnes on the same date last year. The export of wheat also declined to 9.2 million tonnes from 9.77 million a year earlier.

The export volume also included 3.06 million tonnes of barley.

Ukraine accounts for about 16% of global grain exports, and sold about 57 million tonnes of grain to foreign buyers in the 2019/20 season.
