Fire department responded to a corn fire in a bin last Wednesday

Jamestown Rural Fire Department responded to a corn fire in Spiritwood on Wednesday afternoon says a report at The Jamestown Sun.

Stutsman County Communications Center received a call at 3:32 p.m., regarding a corn fire at 9345 30th St. SE. Four units and 10 firefighters responded, according to JFD Chief Ben Maulding.

There was smoldering corn in a grain bin, he said. The fire was contained to the bin and one JFD unit was sent back while the remaining firefighters waited as hay bales were loaded onto trucks to get to the hot spot, he said.
