Receding Flood Waters Leave Busted Iowa Grain Bins

Bins are bursting from water-soaked corn and soybeans

There’s an unusual sight across some western Iowa farms. Grain bins are bursting from water-soaked corn and soybeans.

KCCI reports that farmers near the town of Crescent are experiencing busted bins with the grain spilling onto the ground.

Some bins were damaged by the floodwaters, but in many cases, the floodwater is causing the corn and soybeans inside the bins to swell to the point where the bins break apart.
